A powerful cyclone is expected to make landfall in Armenia on Monday evening, bringing widespread precipitation through Wednesday.
Heavy snowfall is forecast in the country's mountainous regions, including Shirak, Lori, Kotayk, Vayots Dzor, Gegharkunik and Syunik Provinces, with snow depths potentially exceeding 30–40 cm in some areas.
In the valleys and foothills, where fruit trees are currently in bloom, no frost is expected.
Rain is expected in Yerevan from Monday through Wednesday, followed by dry weather later in the week.
Temperatures are set to drop by 2–4C on Tuesday before rising by 10–12C.
Strong winds of 14–17 m/s are also expected in some areas.
