Heavy snow expected in parts of Armenia

An active cyclone will bring rain and snow across Armenia on April 15-16.

Heavy snowfall is forecast for the country's mountainous areas, including Shirak, Lori, Kotayk, Aragatsotn, Vayots Dzor, Gegharkunik and parts of Syunik and Tavush Provinces, where snow depth may reach 30–40 cm or more.

According to the Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Center, no frost is expected in valleys and foothills, where fruit trees are currently in bloom.

Dry weather is forecast for April 17–19, with temperatures rising by 10–12C. Rain may return to some areas on April 20.

The capital Yerevan will also experience rainfall on April 15–16 and late on April 20.
