Pashinyan: No written response to Meghri road proposal

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said Armenia has not received a formal response from Azerbaijan regarding its proposal for a transit route through Meghri to Nakhichevan.

“We have not received a written response to our proposal,” Pashinyan told reporters at the National Assembly on Wednesday.

"There have been various comments and interpretations, but I believe we need to approach this process with a clear understanding. Every project has its nuances which require thorough work," he added.

Pashinyan reaffirmed his government’s commitment to procedural clarity provided that the core principles of territorial integrity, sovereignty, jurisdiction and reciprocity are fully respected.

He also highlighted Armenia’s proposal to reopen the Horadiz–Yeraskh railway, saying it would benefit both Azerbaijan and Armenia by easing regional cargo transit.
