The U.S. Department of State has announced the cancellation of several grants deemed "wasteful", including a $2 million grant originally allocated to Armenia. The funds were intended to support the advancement of democratic culture in the country.
According to the official statement, the grant to Armenia was part of a broader initiative targeting several post-Soviet states. Among the canceled projects was also a $2.4 million grant to Belarus, which aimed to counter disinformation through creative content.
Other affected countries include Moldova, Uzbekistan, Brazil, Bulgaria, Lebanon and Tunisia.
