Azerbaijani gunfire now deliberate and targeted, Armenian MP warns

Tigran Abrahamyan, an MP from the opposition Pativ Unem faction, has raised concerns about increasingly deliberate Azerbaijani gunfire along Armenia’s border, particularly targeting the villages of Khnatsakh and Khoznavar.

"Conversations with local residents, as well as periodic updates from the Ministry of Defense, indicate that unlike earlier incidents, Azerbaijani gunfire is now deliberate and aimed at specific targets," Abrahamyan wrote on Facebook on Friday.

While urging caution and discouraging rash or reactive measures, Abrahamyan stressed that the changing dynamics point to a growing threat.

He also criticized the Armenian government’s response, calling it inadequate in light of the situation. “Whether in terms of information dissemination, diplomatic engagement or practical measures on the ground, the government’s actions remain disproportionate, which negatively impacts border residents especially when the current leadership’s conduct inspires little confidence," Abrahamyan added.
