Weightlifter Harutyun Hovhannisyan wins silver at World Youth and Junior Championships

The World Youth and Junior Championships are nearing completion in Lima, Peru.

Armenian weightlifter Harutyun Hovhannisyan delivered a standout performance in the super heavyweight competition on Friday night.

In the snatch, he succeeded in all three attempts, lifting 140 kg, 145 kg and 150 kg, which earned him the gold medal in the event.

In the clean and jerk, Hovhannisyan lifted 173 kg. With a combined total of 323 kg, he finished second overall, earning the silver medal and the title of youth world vice-champion.
