Armen Danielyan, the former head of Armenia’s Food Safety Inspectorate Body (FSIB), was arrested on Monday as part of a criminal investigation into misappropriation. The Anti-Corruption Committee confirmed the arrest, promising to release additional details soon.
When contacted by Panorama.am, FSIB spokesperson Anush Harutyunyan said she was unaware of any arrests involving employees of the agency.
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan signed an order on Danielyan's dismissal on April 30.
