Mamijanyan says his team will back Kocharyan for PM if nominated

MP Hayk Mamijanyan of the opposition Pativ Unem faction says his team will support former President Robert Kocharyan as a candidate for prime minister if the Hayastan bloc nominates him in an impeachment bid against Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Mamijanyan emphasized that the impeachment initiative is about expressing no confidence in Pashinyan and said his faction is prepared to move forward immediately, pending agreement on a joint opposition candidate.

“We are ready to initiate impeachment proceedings with any genuine opposition figure,” he added.
