A Yerevan court on Tuesday approved the pre-trial detention of Armen Danielyan, the former head of Armenia’s Food Safety Inspection Body (FSIB).
The Anti-Corruption Committee arrested several other FSIB employees as part of the same investigation on Monday. As of now, no measures of restrain have been imposed on them.
Danielyan is accused of large-scale embezzlement through abuse of office.
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan dismissed Danielyan as FSIB head on April 30.
