Armenian ruling party's nominees elected SJC members

The ruling Civil Contract faction of Armenia’s National Assembly nominated Armenuhi Harutyunyan, Ashot Hayrapetyan and Anahit Abrahamyan as candidates for the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) members. All three have now been elected to the position.

During Wednesday's parliament session, Narek Babayan, Chair of the National Assembly Counting Commission, announced the results of the secret vote.

Out of 107 MPs, 68 participated in the vote. No ballot papers were declared invalid. Armenuhi Harutyunyan and Ashot Hayrapetyan each received 68 votes in favor. Anahit Abrahamyan secured 67 votes in favor, with one vote against.

The newly elected SJC members took the oath of office and signed the official text of the oath during the session.
