Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan expressed cautious optimism over the possible conclusion of a peace treaty with Azerbaijan.
"There might be good news regarding the signing of a peace agreement in the near future," Mirzoyan told RFE/RL's Armenian Service at Yerevan's Victory Park on Friday.
When asked about the status of the negotiations and whether discussions are tied to Azerbaijan’s preconditions, Mirzoyan responded: "Everything has essentially been said already. At this point, there’s no new information to disclose. We remain ready to start consultations on the matter at any given moment."
"Unfortunately, we continue to hear various statements from Azerbaijan. There has been no breakthrough yet, but the dialogue continues. As with any negotiation process, we must be patient. Perhaps there will be good news in the near future," he added.
