Armenia's High-Tech Industry Minister Mkhitar Hayrapetyan says authorities have been analyzing satellite imagery in the search for 2-year-old Tigran, who went missing on May 4. However, the most recent satellite images of the area date back to April 26.
“Expert opinions differ on whether it’s even technically possible to identify a toddler in such imagery. Still, we felt it was our duty to investigate all available options," Hayrapetyan told reporters in the parliament on Thursday.
The ministry has contacted nearly 20 international satellite companies, many for the first time, but has yet to secure relevant images from the date in question. Hayrapetyan stressed that efforts are ongoing and that authorities are doing everything possible to support the search.
“Even if identification proves unlikely, we must explore every lead,” the minister said.
