Armenian archbishop hints at new phase for his movement

In what he suggested may be his final weekly video message, Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan, the leader of the Holy Struggle movement, stressed the need for efforts to prevent Armenia’s ruling Civil Contract party from participating in the 2026 parliamentary elections.

“The current government of evil must be removed – there's no other way,” he declared, emphasizing the movement’s goal of change of power in Armenia.

“Over this period, we have met with hundreds, even thousands of our fellow citizens. The meetings solely focused on restoring our homeland and dignity," the archbishop stated.

Galstanyan hinted at a new phase for the movement. “This may be my final video address. We will meet again somewhere else, under different circumstances," he said.

The archbishop expressed confidence in the eventual success of the movement, defining victory as the liberation of the country and the restoration of its dignity.
