Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will visit Yerevan on May 20–21 for talks with Armenian officials, including Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, and President Vahagn Khachaturian. The visit follows previous high-level meetings and aims to deepen bilateral ties, enhance cooperation in Eurasian integration and coordinate positions on global platforms such as the UN, the Russian Foreign Ministry reported.
Key agenda items include regional security, Armenian-Azerbaijani and Armenian-Turkish normalization and the signing of a 2025–2026 inter-ministerial consultation plan. Lavrov will also address students at the Russian-Armenian University and meet with Russian compatriots.
He will lay flowers at the Eternal Flame and a wreath at the Armenian Genocide Memorial. Moscow hopes the visit will strengthen political dialogue and foster mutual understanding.
