During a commemoration event marking the 107th anniversary of the First Republic of Armenia at the statue of Aram Manukyan, ARF Bureau member and oppositio MP Ishkhan Saghatelyan denounced Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s Republic Day message as “statements of a man without homeland or sanctity."
Referring to May 28, Saghatelyan emphasized that the day symbolizes the power of national leadership, will and determination: “It shows that even in the face of a superior enemy, it is possible to win and preserve statehood.”
Responding to Pashinyan’s remarks that Armenia is now “more sovereign and independent than ever” and that “our people no longer need to search for a homeland,” Saghatelyan said: “Under his rule, Armenia’s sovereignty has hit rock bottom, its territorial integrity is compromised and the enemy is stationed on sovereign Armenian lands. He has no right to speak about statehood or homeland as he is their adversary."
