Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has stated that Turkey is actively supporting efforts to finalize a peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
“We are pleased to see that peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia is on the horizon,” Anadolu Agency quoted Erdogan as saying on Thursday. “We are closely following the process and making the necessary contributions. We are prepared to continue supporting this effort moving forward. Peace will not only benefit Azerbaijan and Armenia but also our country.”
The Turkish president also touched on Ankara’s relationship with Yerevan.
“We are also engaged in the normalization of relations with Armenia,” Erdogan noted. “Once peace and normalization are fully achieved, all our countries will stand to gain. We have no doubt about this.”
