Head coach hails Armenian team's performance at European Gymnastics Championships

Armenia’s national team achieved its best-ever results at the European Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Leipzig, Germany, claiming two gold, one silver and one bronze medals. Head coach Hakob Serobyan hailed the team’s performance as “outstanding and beyond expectations".

“We were aiming for two medals and came back with four. The competition was extremely tough,” Serobyan told a press conference on Tuesday.

Triple European champion Artur Davtyan was praised for his remarkable effort despite battling a knee injury. “He performed flawlessly – it was unbelievable,” the coach noted. “Before the final, he couldn’t even stand on his leg. It took sheer willpower, experience and the heart of a true Armenian.”

Gold medalist Hamlet Manukyan and silver medalist Mamikon Khachatryan were also commended for delivering at their highest level. Serobyan called bronze medalist Artur Avetisyan’s achievement a breakthrough: “He always finished fourth. For me, he’s a winner.”

“This is the best result we've ever had at the European Championships. Two gold medals – what more could we ask for?” Serobyan concluded.
