Armenian opposition MP slams his persecution as 'unlawful'

Opposition Hayastan faction MP Artsvik Minasyan has sharply criticized Prosecutor General Anna Vardapetyan’s request to allow criminal proceedings against him and Hayastan leader Seyran Ohanyan, calling it "yet another state-orchestrated farce".

"The baseless criminal case against me, which cannot withstand professional, political or moral scrutiny, is not only yet another show for the public, but also a reflection of the regime’s fears of losing power," he wrote on Facebook on Tuesday.

Minasyan further accused the chief prosecutor of "repeatedly violating the constitution and laws while carrying out Nikol Pashinyan’s illegal orders”.
