Bystander injured in shootings in Yerevan district

On June 10 at 11:12 a.m., Armenia’s National Police Operations Center received a report from the St. Gregory the Illuminator Medical Center that a 76-year-old woman had been hospitalized with a gunshot wound.

Preliminary investigations indicate that an altercation broke out between two individuals on Khudyakov Street in Yerevan’s Avan district. During the dispute, one of the individuals opened fire, injuring a 31-year-old man involved in it as well as the elderly bystander. Both victims are currently receiving medical treatment.

Authorities have identified the suspect and are conducting a manhunt to locate the individual and recover the weapon used in the shooting.

The Interior Ministry promised to provide further details.
