Nine hospitalized after house explosion in Armenian town

A house explosion in Chambarak, a town in Armenia’s Gegharkunik Province, has resulted in one fatality and multiple injuries. The blast occurred in a residential building on Tigran Mets Street on Wednesday morning.

According to the Ministry of Health, nine people have been hospitalized and are currently undergoing treatment at a local medical center.

Preliminary findings from the Rescue Service indicate that the fire, which followed the explosion, was likely caused by a gas leak in one of the apartments.

Authorities continue to investigate the incident.
