Situation on Armenia-Azerbaijan border relatively stable, deputy minister says

The situation along the Armenia-Azerbaijan border is relatively stable and there is no cause for concern at the moment, Deputy Defense Minister Arman Sargsyan told reporters on Friday.

When asked whether the Ministry of Defense has assessed the possibility of an attack on Syunik Province in light of Israel’s attack on Iran, Sargsyan responded: "Naturally, any escalation in the region should be a cause for concern for all of us. The ministry is closely monitoring the situation."

In response to a question about how Armenia plans to defend itself, the deputy minister stated that Armenia will defend itself using all its capabilities and resources if necessary.

"However, every effort must be made – politically and diplomatically – to prevent any escalation in the region," he added.
