New milestone in Armenia’s hospitality sector: Derjava and InterContinental bring Holiday Inn Resort to Dilijan

A new chapter is unfolding in Armenia’s hospitality sector as the picturesque resort town of Dilijan prepares to welcome a globally renowned brand. Thanks to new collaboration between the Derjava Group of Companies and the InterContinental Hotels Group, a Holiday Inn Resort is set to open in Dilijan by 2027.

Derjava plans to invest approximately 7 billion drams into the project. According to Marine Hovakimyan, CEO of Derjava Group of Companies, the resort will blend Armenia’s natural beauty with world-class service, offering a compelling mix that invites guests to return time and again.

The agreement was officially signed by Derjava founder Stanislav Hambardzumyan and InterContinental’s Regional Development Director Alexis Feuillat in Yerevan on Thursday. Feuillat emphasized the strength of the partnership and their shared vision for future growth.

The Holiday Inn Resort Dilijan will feature international-standard amenities, including indoor and outdoor pools, a spa, restaurants, children’s playgrounds and accessibility features. It will also provide over 100 jobs for the local community, contributing to regional development.

This will be the third Holiday Inn in Armenia and the first resort hotel under the brand, showcasing unique architectural and design elements.

The current Dilijan Resort will continue operations and undergo upgrades ahead of the 2027 reopening.
