Jubilee concert to mark 25th anniversary of Armenian State Chamber Choir

On June 27, the Armenian State Chamber Choir will celebrate its 25th anniversary with a special concert at the Komitas Chamber Music Hall. The program features popular folk and other songs arranged by its Artistic Director and People's Artist of Armenia Robert Mlkeyan.

Soloists include Mavr Mkrtchyan (baritone), Vardan Badalyan (tenor), Abel Abelyan (baritone), Vrezh Gharibyan (tenor) and Aram Avetisyan (baritone).

Founded in 2000 under the patronage of the Vatche and Tamar Manoukian Benevolent Union, the choir gained state status in 2008. Since its inception, it has been led by Mlkeyan and has become a champion of Armenian composers both at home and abroad. Its repertoire spans from early medieval to contemporary choral and vocal-symphonic works, including numerous Armenian premieres.

The choir has toured in the UK, France, Germany, Russia, the U.S., Canada, Argentina and other countries.
