Hayakve activist: We will do everything to ensure Nikol Pashinyan is prosecuted

The actions of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, his wife, and members of his political party bear clear signs of criminal conduct, according to members of the Hayakve initiative.

“We hope that this time the chief prosecutor will open a criminal case, as there are ample grounds for it. Their actions fall under at least five articles of the Criminal Code, not just those of Pashinyan, but also his wife and political allies, including Ruben Rubinyan, Vahagn Aleksanyan and others,” Aram Petrosyan, a lawyer and a Hayakve member, told reporters on Tuesday.

The lawyer pointed to Tuesday’s incident in the parliament where one of the ruling Civil Contract party board members, Arsen Torosyan, called a fellow MP a Turk, while Civil Contract MP Arthur Hovhannisyan threatened physical violence, saying he would "break a fellow's neck". "These actions must ultimately receive legal assessment,” Petrosyan said.

Hayakve activists gathered outside the Prosecutor General’s Office to submit a comprehensive crime report detailing unlawful actions by the authorities against the Armenian Apostolic Church.

“We hope that justice will ultimately prevail. Nikol Pashinyan must be held accountable and prosecuted for his actions,” the lawyer stressed.
