Deputy mayor of Armenia's Etchmiadzin resigns

First Deputy Mayor of Etchmiadzin Arsen Petrosyan announced resignation on Thursday.

In a statement addressed to the municipal staff, Petrosyan stressed that he had done his utmost to serve the community and the country amid internal and external challenges during seven years in office.

"My primary goal has always been a strong, developed and prosperous community and nation. While I may have made mistakes along the way, I ask for your understanding and thank you for the support and encouragement," he wrote.

Petrosyan reiterated his commitment to continue to serving his community and standing with the people.
