Scorching heat to persist in Armenia

A scorching heatwave driven by subtropical air masses from the south continues to grip Armenia, with temperatures reaching 40C in Yerevan, the Ararat Valley and Syunik’s lowlands on July 24. The extreme heat is expected to persist for several days, raising the risk of wildfires in central and southern regions.

Yerevan will see mostly dry weather, with brief showers and thunderstorms possible on July 25-26. Strong winds of up to 20 m/s may accompany storms. The country's regions may also experience short rain, thunder and hail. Temperatures will remain consistently high throughout the week.
