Political analyst Ara Poghosyan has denounced Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s reaction to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s recent recognition of the Armenian Genocide.
In a social media post on Thursday, Poghosyan said while Turkey openly condemned Netanyahu’s statement, Pashinyan’s response was “even more disgusting”. The Armenian leader stated that Netanyahu’s remarks “have nothing to do with the interests of the Republic of Armenia or the Armenian nation.”
Poghosyan argued that such wording could just as easily have come from Turkey’s president and not from Armenia’s leader. He claimed that Pashinyan’s rhetoric reflects a “vassal-like” attitude toward the Turkish and Azerbaijani presidents, suggesting that the prime minister prioritizes conciliating Ankara and Baku over defending Armenia's national interests.
