Businessman: Armenia's agricultural sector extremely vulnerable

The agricultural sector, which generates more than 15 percent of Armenia’s GDP, is in an extremely vulnerable condition, farmer and businessman Harutyun Mnatsakanyan said at the launch event of the "Our Way" movement in Yerevan on Friday.

According to Mnatsakanyan, out of the 450,000 hectares of arable land officially designated for agriculture in Armenia, only about 200,000 hectares are currently being cultivated. He emphasized that the irrigation system is in a catastrophic state, further undermining the sector’s potential.
