Vanetsyan: Aliyev doubles military spending, Pashinyan says 'we don't need an army'

During the inauguration of the Call of Artsakh memorial at Yerevan’s Yerablur Military Pantheon on Tuesday, Homeland Party leader Artur Vanetsyan called attention to the starkly contradictory statements of the Armenian and Azerbaijani leaders.

“Aliyev announces that he is doubling military expenditures, while Nikol Pashinyan declares that we don’t need an army,” Vanetsyan told reporters.

He went on to highlight a series of conflicting statements made by the two leaders.

“Aliyev says that Azerbaijan has dictated the terms for a ‘peace agreement’ with Armenia. Meanwhile, Nikol Pashinyan shouts about sovereignty and jurisdiction… But how long can people be deceived? It’s impossible to lie to people endlessly,” the politician stressed.
