Eduard Spertsyan: I always aim to earn a national team call-up

Armenian national team midfielder Eduard Spertsyan claims the squad is in high spirits ahead of the FIFA World Cup qualifying round match against Portugal.

“The coach is meticulous and we’ve put in maximum effort in recent days to be fully prepared,” he told a press conference on Friday. Spertsyan claimed to be in excellent physical and mental shape, hoping to contribute to the team.

Spertsyan also underlined the pride he feels whenever he joins the national team. “I always do my best at my club to earn a call-up. When I come to Armenia, the emotions are completely different,” he said.

Armenia will host Portugal at Yerevan’s Vazgen Sargsyan Republican Stadium on September 6, with kickoff scheduled for 20:00 local time.
