1,917 people under monitoring over domestic violence cases in Armenia, deputy minister says
The Armenian authorities issued 234 warnings and imposed 701 urgent intervention measures in connection with domestic violence cases in the first five months of 2025. Currently, 1,917 individuals remain under official monitoring, Deputy Interior Minister Armen Ghazaryan said at a parliament session on Monday.
Presenting draft amendments to the Law on the Prevention of Domestic and Gender-Based Violence and on the Protection of Victims, Ghazaryan emphasized that the proposed changes require perpetrators to wear electronic monitoring devices.
He said the statistics show a certain increase compared to previous years, stressing the need for strengthening institutional capacity and raising public awareness to combat domestic violence more effectively.
