Ukrainian businessman Arayik Amirkhanyan has been arrested in connection with the assassination of former Ukrainian MP Ilya Kiva, Russian state media outlet RIA Novosti reported.
According to the agency, a company owned by Amirkhanyan has accumulated debts totaling 85 million rubles in Russia, including unpaid taxes. His bank accounts have been frozen, based on data from BIR-Analytics and court bailiffs’ records.
Earlier, a source familiar with the investigation told RIA Novosti that a court in Moscow Region had ordered Amirkhanyan’s detention over Kiva’s murder.
Meanwhile, Amirkhanyan has been wanted by Ukraine’s Security Service since 2020 on charges of large-scale fraud committed either individually or as part of a group.
