Expert review to be issued on fire at Yerevan State Medical University

A fire broke out at a laboratory on the seventh floor of Yerevan State Medical University (YSMU) on Sunday. Four fire and rescue crews and other specialized teams were dispatched to the scene.

The blaze was contained at 7:50 p.m. and extinguished at 8:14 p.m., damaging about 6 sq. m of laboratory space and 12 sq. m of corridor ceiling. Firefighters successfully prevented the flames from spreading to adjacent rooms.

One person injured and hospitalized in the wake of the incident is currently in stable condition, the YSMU Public Relations Department told Panorama.am on Monday.

An expert review will be issued following the investigation into the cause of the fire.
