Armenia's Constitutional Reform Council holds new meeting

Armenian Justice Minister Srbuhi Galyan chaired a regular meeting of the Constitutional Reform Council on Wednesday.

The meeting focused on revisions to the formation procedures of the National Assembly, mechanisms for its self-dissolution and constitutional provisions on the number of standing committees, including the creation of a permanent ethics committee, the Justice Ministry reported.

The council also addressed procedures enabling parliamentary committees to issue conclusions of no confidence in the deputy prime minister, ministers or diplomatic representatives. Following active discussions, the proposals were put to a vote and adopted.
