Ruling party MP elected parliament committee head

Ruling Civil Contract party MP Hripsime Hunanyan has been elected chair of the Armenian National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Health Care.

Out of 107 deputies, 61 took part in the secret ballot on Thursday, all voting in favor of Hunanyan.

Hunanian, who graduated from Yerevan State Medical College No.1 as a nurse in 2003, has worked at several hospitals. Addressing the parliament earlier, she noted: “Who said everyone must have a university degree? I did not pursue higher education, but I have constantly learned. Care, love and respect stand behind this short biography.”
