The pro-government majority in the Armenian parliament has adopted a draft statement formally recognizing peace with Azerbaijan.
At a special sitting on Thursday, ruling Civil Contract faction head Hayk Konjoryan highlighted the August 8 signing of a peace declaration between Armenia and Azerbaijan in Washington, stressing that parliament should officially acknowledge the development and urge all sides to strengthen and build on it.
The opposition Hayastan and Pativ Unem factions boycotted the debate.
The measure passed with 64 votes in favor, two abstentions and none against, drawing applause from ruling party MPs.
