Inflation in Armenia reaches 3.2%

The Statistical Committee of Armenia reveals that overall inflation in the country reached 3.2% in January-August 2025 compared to the same period in 2024. Industrial goods rose by 2.8%, while construction prices dropped by 6.7%. The agricultural producer price index increased by 5.4%.

Food and non-alcoholic beverages recorded a 5.8% rise, outpacing the overall inflation rate. Bread prices climbed by 5%, and flour saw a sharper increase of 7.2%.

In the meat category, poultry prices rose by 1.9%, beef by 3.1%, lamb by 4.9%, and pork by 9.4% compared with September 2024.

Among other essentials, sunflower oil prices surged by 15.9%, butter by 12.5%, and margarine by 3.5%. Confectionery products became 1.6% more expensive, while chocolate prices jumped 10.4%.

Hot beverages also saw significant hikes: coffee prices rose 14.2%, tea 3.5%, and cocoa 21.7%.

Some staple products recorded declines — egg prices fell by 3% and buckwheat by 0.6% year-on-year, though both saw modest monthly increases in August (3.1% and 0.8%, respectively).

Prices for alcoholic beverages and tobacco products rose by 4.7% and 8.3%, while fruit prices recorded one of the steepest increases –12.4% compared to the previous year.
