Opposition factions move forward with no-confidence motion against Pashinyan

The parliamentary opposition in Armenia has taken another step toward launching a no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

In a statement on Thursday, Pativ Unem faction leader Hayk Mamijanyan announced that the Hayastan faction had submitted the necessary document to formally begin the process, signed by all 28 of its members.

Since the initiative was first announced on June 7, a total of 34 lawmakers have joined the impeachment effort.

The announcement follows parliamentary hearings organized by Pativ Unem, the Republican Party of Armenia’s parliamentary faction, on September 26, when opposition MPs reaffirmed their commitment to push the motion forward.
