Pashinyan questions why former leaders failed to implement 'brilliant' Karabakh solutions

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has questioned why the country’s former leaders failed to implement what they described as “brilliant solutions” to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

“Why did Armenia’s former three leaders never bring to life the brilliant solutions to the Karabakh conflict that they talk about?” he said in a Facebook video on Monday.

Pashinyan then offered his own answer, suggesting that there could be only two explanations.

“The first is that they demonstrated criminal inaction, perhaps serving not Armenia’s interests, but those of foreign countries and depriving us of the brilliant solutions to the Karabakh issue,” he said.

“The second possibility is that the solutions they describe were nothing more than political deception based on mental exercises and their implementation was never actually possible,” Pashinyan added.
