HRD team visits Armenian Investigative Committee after detention of clergymen

The rapid response team of the Armenian Human Rights Defender’s Office visited the Investigative Committee after reports that several clergymen were detained on Wednesday, it said.

“Upon the instruction of the human rights defender, the rapid response team headed to the Investigative Committee to assess the situation regarding the protection of the rights of those deprived of liberty and to clarify the grounds for their detention,” the office told Panorama.am.

Lawyers earlier reported that the whereabouts of the Aragatsotn Diocese head remained unknown following a search of his house.
