Pashinyan says Armenia must learn from history, not repeat it

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said the country’s history should serve as a warning not to repeat past mistakes, urging people to study it thoroughly.

In a video posted on social media on Saturday, Pashinyan said Armenians often refer to their history but rarely read or learn from it.

“What lesson does our history give us? Our history tells us: do not repeat me,” Pashinyan said. “To avoid repeating it, we must read, learn and study our history.”

He added that “Historical Armenia” carries a clear message for modern Armenians.

“Historical Armenia tells us: do not make your state – the Republic of Armenia – part of Historical Armenia,” Pashinyan said. “Therefore, the ideas of Real Armenia and the Fourth Republic stem from the Armenian people’s history and the lessons of Historical Armenia.”
