Armenian and Azeri parliament speakers meet in Geneva

Armenian National Assembly Speaker Alen Simonyan met with his Azerbaijani counterpart Sahiba Gafarova in Geneva on the sidelines of the 151st Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) on Tuesday.

The two speakers welcomed the agreements reached in Washington and the steps towards the normalization of relations between the two countries, the Armenian parliament reported.

Both sides emphasized the importance of maintaining a constructive dialogue and expressed readiness to promote confidence-building measures at the parliamentary level.
