The National Gallery of Armenia will host the international conference “Impressionisms: Stories from the Margins” on October 28–29 as part of the Routes of Impressionism project. The event will open with the exhibition Hovhannes Alkhazyan: From Van to Paris.
Around 20 experts from Armenia, France, Russia and Georgia will take part, highlighting the country’s growing role in regional art scholarship.
Since joining the Council of Europe’s Cultural Routes programme in 2022, Armenia has strengthened ties with European institutions, including a major 2025 exhibition in Barbizon, France, showcasing over 70 works by key Armenian Impressionists.
Organisers say the Yerevan conference will further promote international collaboration and reaffirm Armenia’s place in Europe’s cultural dialogue.
