Former Artsakh military leader asks Baku court to summon Azerbaijani witness from Armenia

The sham trial of former Artsakh political and military leaders continued in Baku on Friday.

Major General David Manukyan, a former deputy commander of the Artsakh Defense Army, requested the court to summon an ethnic Azerbaijani man living in Armenia as a witness.

According to Azerbaijani media, Manukyan said he only knew the man by the name Knyaz, who was born in Armenia and works at a non-ferrous metals plant in the village of Sayat-Nova in Armenia’s Masis region. The prosecution argued the defense failed to provide details needed to identify or locate the man, calling the motion unsubstantiated.

Meanwhile, former parliament speaker David Ishkhanyan requested a private meeting with his lawyer and sought to submit a video recording made after the 2020 Tovuz clashes as evidence. The judge said arrangements would be made during a recess.
