Ani Zalinyan becomes first Dutch MP of Armenian descent

Following the parliamentary elections in the Netherlands, Ani Zalinyan has secured a seat in the Tweede Kamer, making history as the first-ever Armenian-born member of the Dutch Parliament.

Representing the GroenLinks–PvdA alliance, Zalinyan’s election marks a meaningful step toward greater diversity and representation in Dutch politics, the Diary of the Netherlands reported on Friday.

The parliamentary elections in the Netherlands were held on October 29.
