King Gagik I statue reinstalled outside History Museum

The gypsum statue of King Gagik I has been reinforced and reinstalled at the entrance of the History Museum of Armenia, the museum reported on Wednesday.

Restoration work was carried out by the museum’s conservation laboratory, focusing on the statue’s structural stability and aesthetic preservation. Visitors can now view the sculpture in an improved and more secure condition, the statement said.

Earlier, Yerevan opposition councilor Mesrop Manukyan claimed the statue had been damaged during cleaning. The museum told Panorama.am that 798,000 drams were allocated for the restoration.
