Photos show aftermath of Yerevan shopping center fire

A fire that broke out at a shopping center on Yerevan’s Komitas Avenue, which is home to the Yerevan City supermarket and several food outlets, was fully contained at 1:09 p.m. on Thursday, according to emergency services.

Preliminary reports suggest the blaze started at the KFC fast-food outlet before spreading to nearby areas. However, businessman Arkadi Hambardzumyan told reporters that its kitchen remained undamaged.
