Two Armenian GMs reach 4th round of FIDE World Chess Cup

Armenian GMs Shant Sargsyan and Gabriel Sargissian have advanced to the fourth round of the 2025 FIDE World Chess Cup, the Armenian Chess Federation reports.

In the fourth round, GM Shant Sargsyan will face German GM Frederik Svane. In the previous round, Frederik eliminated the reigning World Champion Gukesh Dommaraju.

GM Gabriel Sargissian will play against American GM Awonder Liang.

Armenian-American grandmasters Levon Aronian and Samuel Sevian have also reached the fourth round. Levon will face Polish GM Radoslaw Wojtaszek, while Samuel will play against Italian GM Lorenzo Lodici.

The first game of the fourth round starts on November 11 at 13:30 Yerevan time.
