Armenian parliament speaker filed complaint over Imnemnimi podcast remarks

Armenian National Assembly Speaker Alen Simonyan has filed a complaint with law enforcement, seeking a legal assessment of alleged insults and threats made on the Imnemnimi podcast, his spokesperson Movses Harutyunyan told Panorama.am.

Earlier on Thursday, masked officers searched the homes of podcast co-hosts Narek Samsonyan and Vazgen Saghatelyan before taking them into custody. According to lawyer Ruben Melikyan, the two bloggers are once again facing fabricated charges of hooliganism.

The Investigative Committee confirmed to Panorama.am that urgent investigative measures were being carried out as part of ongoing criminal proceedings.
