Armenian journalist Ishkhan Khosrovyan, a reporter for opposition news website AntiFake.am, has been released after being detained earlier on Friday, according to the country’s Investigative Committee.
The committee told Panorama.am that Khosrovyan had not been formally arrested, despite being taken in for questioning earlier in the day. His lawyer, Ruben Melikyan, confirmed that the journalist was freed shortly after and had spent around six hours in custody.
Khosrovyan was detained at approximately 8:30 a.m. outside his home. Authorities said he was suspected of assisting interference in the administration of justice, which Melikyan described as “strange” in a later social media post.
